About
Sienna Vacca is an emerging vocalist, composer, arranger and producer born and based in Adelaide, Australia, who has begun to make her mark in the scene with her fiery, no-nonsense delivery and fearless approach to jazz repertoire. From a Southern Italian family and a descendant of immigrants, Sienna was raised with the core values of hard work, dedication and humility, which she applies seriously to both her life and her art. She was introduced to music through piano lessons at the age of 4 – now 20, music has lived deep in her bones ever since. Sienna is a multi-instrumentalist, has been singing for as long as she remembers, and has also taken on recording and producing her own original material under the mentorship of Australian singer, songwriter and DJ Alex Hosking.

Inspired and influenced by incomparable vocalists such as Betty Carter, Jazzmeia Horn and Michael Mayo, Sienna is a musician who cares deeply about honouring the role of the jazz singer, the emotional vulnerability in singing and equal opportunity for women in jazz, as well as a profound appreciation for vocal improvisation in its many forms. Currently finishing a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance) through the prestigious Elder Conservatorium of Music at Adelaide University, Sienna has studied extensively under award-winning vocalist, composer and educator Lauren Kate Henderson. Throughout her studies at the Elder Conservatorium, she has also had the immense privilege to study her craft with vocal heavyweights Jazzmeia Horn and Kristin Berardi, as well as Grammy-winning bassist Linda May Han Oh, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Troy Roberts, and acclaimed pianist Matthew Sheens.Â

As part of the all-female vocal group The Wardells, named after renowned English-Australian jazz vocalist and Elder Con alumna Anita Wardell, Sienna has had the opportunity to perform at the 2025 Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival. With The Wardells, she opened for Australian trombonist and composer Shannon Barnett with Sam Anning and Kyrie Anderson. In 2026, The Wardells received the DownBeat Student Award in the undergraduate Small Vocal Ensemble category. The award is open to jazz choirs worldwide and marks a major achievement in the history of the ensemble, having won only a year after their formation.Â
As an individual artist, Sienna has performed in many esteemed venues around South Australia, including the Adelaide Festival Theatre, the UKARIA Cultural Centre, and Elder Hall. In 2026, Sienna was selected as one of six finalists nationwide for the prestigious Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, and participated in the adjudications at Mount Gambier in early May.Â

Sienna will be releasing her first extended play, live at wizard tone studios at the start of 2027; the self-written project is a multi-genre exploration which expertly combines soul/funk standards with an eclectic mix of original soul-pop and indie material.Â
